Commercial Fryer Shipping

A fryer that still holds oil is a leak, a mess, and a safety problem on the truck. Properly prepared, it is one of the simpler pieces of cooking equipment to ship. We handle single fryers and full banks, with the oil question settled before anything is loaded.

Disconnect and prep

Have a licensed technician disconnect and cap the gas line or remove the power feed. Let the fryer cool fully before touching the oil, then drain it completely and filter or dispose of it according to local rules. Boil out and wipe the vat so no residue is left to drip.

Draining and loose parts

Close the drain valve and cap the drain line. Remove baskets, screens, and the filter pan and pack them separately. A built-in filtration pan should be emptied and secured so it cannot slide out in transit.

Crating and palletizing

Fryers ship upright, strapped to a skid, with controls, thermostat probes, and the gas valve protected. Floor models with casters are lifted onto the skid rather than rolled, so the casters are not stressed or lost.

Liftgate and inside delivery

Most single fryers are manageable on a liftgate, but banks and filtered units can be heavy. Tell us the model and how many units are moving, and whether the kitchen is on the ground floor. We can bring the fryer inside and set it on the cooking line.

Insurance

Our providers carry cargo insurance, and a certificate of insurance is available on request for buildings and auction sites that require one.

Domestic and international

Fryers ship nationwide with the rest of your cooking line. For export, units are crated and our licensed customs broker handles the paperwork. Check that the gas type and voltage match what the destination supplies.

What to tell us before pickup

Fryers are heavier than they look, and most of the risk comes from residual oil. Tell us the size, whether you have a single unit or a battery, and whether a filtration system is built in. A battery of fryers with a shared filter should be treated as one unit and moved with a plan.

  • Number of fryer vats and whether there is a built-in filtration system
  • Gas or electric, and the approximate weight
  • Whether the oil has been drained and the vats cleaned
  • Casters or legs, and whether either is damaged

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to drain the oil before pickup?
Yes. Drain it fully and clean the vat. Oil in the vat can spill and creates a hazard during transport.
Can fryers ship with the rest of my kitchen?
Yes. Fryers are combined with ranges, ovens, and refrigeration on the same move whenever it makes sense.
Do you reconnect the gas line?
No. We set the fryer in place and your licensed installer makes the gas and electric connections.
